The
Community Partnership for Egg Harbor Township Schools, Inc. has
raised more than $147,000 for Capital Projects, Academic Programs,
Extra-Curricular Activities, Classroom Technology and the Performing
Arts Center. Funds are sought through Special Events, Annual Fund
campaigns, Grants, Planned Giving and Naming Opportunities to further
support our schools today and in the future.
SPECIAL EVENTS:
The Community Partnership hosts two major special events annually
that succeed -- not only in raising funds for the district -- but
also in bringing the community together for a night of FUN! Thanks
to generous sponsors, attendees, and auction donors, more than
$67,000 has been raised to date. For more information on upcoming
events, click here.
ANNUAL FUND:
No
donation is too small! Your

will help ensure Egg Harbor Township Public Schools continue to
provide the highest possible quality of education now and in the
future. To make a contribution, please click here.
Many
corporations in New Jersey have programs that will match the
charitable donations of their employees dollar for dollar. The power
of matching gifts is an excellent way to show your support for the
public school children of Egg Harbor Township. Please ask your
employer if they are a Matching Gift participant.

Academic
Enhancement: The Community
Partnership is committed to supporting new and innovative ways to
enhance academic achievement and to provide additional instructional
tools needed to help Egg Harbor Township students reach their
academic potential and pursue higher education goals.
Utilizing
grant funds, the Community Partnership provided funding needed to
pilot a hands-on equestrian academic program with Atlantic Riding
Center for the Handicapped (ARCH) for at-risk students.
Additionally, when Egg Harbor Township High School found itself in a
budget quandary, the Community Partnership assisted by helping to pay
the cost for students taking Advanced Placement (AP) tests. The
Community Partnership also funded Alder Avenue Middle School’s
Renaissance Program, a goal-oriented academic and character education
incentive program for students and supported the attendance of Egg
Harbor Township Teachers of the Year at the annual County celebratory
luncheon.
Technology
Upgrades: This initiative
supports the district’s goal of preparing all students for the 21st
Century by providing learning environments that include
technology-enriched large group multimedia instructional settings in
every classroom with video/data projection and appropriate sound
systems.
Recognizing
the need for an Alumni Website for Egg Harbor Township graduates to
reconnect with their former classmates and teachers, the Community
Partnership is hosting Egg Harbor Township School District’s new
Alumni website http://ehtalumni.org.
Additionally,
the Community Partnership purchased interactive classroom technology
for Alder Avenue Middle School that makes classroom learning more fun
for students and gives teachers the immediate feedback needed to
gauge and measure student retention of subject material, thus
determining the need for further review of material or the confidence
to move on to the next lesson.
Extra-Curricular
Activities:
Research shows that children involved in extra-curricular activities,
including athletics and the arts, are more likely to graduate from
high school, attend college, and develop stronger critical thinking,
self discipline, and problem-solving skills.
Grant
funds have allowed the Community Partnership to provide a percussion
music program in 2011 and 2012 for students at Dr. Joyanne D. Miller
Elementary School. The
Percussion Workshop program offers students who would otherwise be
unable to afford to purchase or rent a musical instrument, the
opportunity to experience fun, hands-on instrument instruction in a
non-traditional classroom setting. The
Community Partnership also provided lacrosse safety equipment and
uniforms to help establish varsity and junior varsity boys’ and
girls’ lacrosse programs at Egg Harbor Township High School and a
Tennis Starter Kit for the district’s after-school program.
Land
Acquisition: Planning for
the future is a major concern. To meet the explosive student
population growth needs, the Community Partnership for Egg Harbor
Township Schools, Inc. will use Land Acquisition donations to
purchase land that will be used for future educational and
recreational facilities for the public school children.
Capital
Projects: Tax-deductible
donations made to the Community Partnership for Egg Harbor Township
Schools, Inc. will empower donors to literally build the future.
Funds will be used to build new Egg Harbor Township public schools
and/or renovate and expand existing academic buildings, facilities
and grounds.
Proceeds
from two Community Partnership-hosted dinner dances held in 2008 and
2009 were used to fund the high school’s new LED Marquee Sign
project. The Community Partnership funded all sign-related
expenses including required Township permits, engineering designs,
land surveys, and construction drawings; construction materials,
labor, electrical and cable installation, and landscaping.
